Brenda thrives after career change
"I couldn’t be happier. I’m 52 and loving my graduate year at Western District Health Service as an enrolled nurse," she said.
Brenda first started a Certificate III in Individual Support to see if she liked the industry and discovered that she loved working in aged care.
"I love helping people who need help. I’ve always had an affinity with elderly people and I just love hearing their stories.
"I learnt so many news skills through my studies and the teachers at South West TAFE were so knowledgeable across so many sectors. They all have a lifetime of experience which is great for the students," she said.
Brenda said there were so many job opportunities in the region in nursing and health care right now and encouraged anyone thinking about a career in the industry to give it a try.
