Erin found her passion for helping people through beauty
Erin was studying nursing at university and loved the course content but realised she didn’t love the work placements.
“I’d always had a passion for beauty so I quit uni and enrolled at South West TAFE in the same day.
“When I started studying at TAFE it became clear that my way to help people wasn’t through nursing but was through beauty,” she said.
Erin studied the Certificate III in Beauty Therapy and nail technology units before moving on to her diploma.
“I absolutely loved the science side of the course so I then decided to go back to study a Bachelor of Dermal Science at Victoria University,” she said.
Erin said she gained credits from her diploma which had taken the first year off her university course.
When she completes her bachelor, Erin has plans to continue to study medicine with an idea to move into plastics or dermatology fields.
Erin said she was so happy to have found her way to TAFE and the skills she had learnt had been so helpful in her further studies.
“The beauty course at TAFE was a way better fit for me and this is exactly what I want to do. I just want to continue to help people,” she said.
