Mykayla has unexpectedly found her passion in Nail Technology
“I had a few people around me encouraging me to do the course. It wasn’t something I saw myself doing, but with the support services I was linked in with I’m so glad they pushed me to do it,” she said.
Mykayla said she loved everyone she worked with and found the teachers at Pure Academy to be so supportive.
“The teachers are so amazing with how they teach the course. Everything is so inclusive and well taught.
“It’s the best course I’ve been in. I thought it would be similar to school and I didn’t do well in school, but it’s so different from what I thought it was going to be in the best way possible,” she said.
Mykayla was recognised for her hard work by being awarded the Certificate III in Nail Technology Student of the Year at South West TAFE’s Pure Awards recently.
She said she was excited to finish her course and already had a job lined up upon completion.
“I also hope to one day own my own salon and work with some of my other friends who are doing the same course,” she said.
