Plumbing career starts with a school-based apprenticeship
“I did a school-based apprenticeship with the hospital in Hamilton. I worked there one day a week and thought it was something that I wanted to do so I decided to give it a go. I then got the opportunity to gain an apprenticeship which was great,” he said.
Isaiah now works for Tim Wilken Plumbing and works on a variety of plumbing jobs including farm jobs and farm water systems.
He said he enjoyed attending trade school at South West TAFE in Warrnambool which gave him the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people.
He said the teachers were helpful and they had the opportunity to work on different scenarios.
Isaiah said he was looking forward to finishing his apprenticeship and seeing where it would take him.
