The agriculture industry will have a huge impact on the future of food security. There are a large variety of careers and employment opportunities available through studying agriculture and there is a strong demand for skilled workers, providing good pay and flexible hours. Practical indoor and outdoor work is available with opportunities to work anywhere in the world.
This course will provide the key skills you require in order to work on a farm with subjects that could include: operation and maintenance of agricultural equipment (quad bikes and tractors), livestock management and health, milking, fencing, chemical application and first aid.

You must be at least 15 years old to enrol. In order to complete the qualification, you must be at least 16 years old to undertake certain units.
You must also be employed in the agriculture industry.
To be eligible to be awarded this qualification you must successfully complete 18 units, 3 core units and 15 electives.

This course involves accredited units. You will be required to complete assessment tasks to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes to meet the course outcomes. A combination of written, oral and practical assessment strategies will be used in either a classroom, online or workplace environment.
Where units require demonstration of skills in a workplace environment, you will have the opportunity to do this either in your own workplace (where appropriate), through a practical placement, or by using one of the Institute's simulated workshops/classrooms. Detailed information about the types, conduct and dates of assessments will be provided in advance. You will also be provided with information about the opportunity for reassessment and appeal.
