Short courses

We have a number of short courses available that are designed to assist you in your current employment, to learn a new skill or pursue an interest. Click here to view short courses

Combine school studies and TAFE training

We have a variety of options for you to start training for your chosen career while you’re still at school. You can study Years 10, 11 or 12 at SWTAFE, combine school and a TAFE course with a VET Delivered to Secondary Students (VET DSS) program or complete a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship. Pre-apprenticeships

A pre-apprenticeship is a Certificate II level course that enables you to gain insight into what it’s like to work in a trade, before you make a commitment to an apprenticeship. Click here to find out more.

Apprenticeships and traineeships

Combine formal training, practical work and employment so you can earn while you learn. An apprenticeship or traineeship teaches you relevant industry skills while you work towards an accredited qualification. Click here to find out more.

Certificates

Certificate courses run from Certificate I through to Certificate IV level. They range from foundation level courses to courses that give you in-depth knowledge and hands-on skills in your chosen industry. Click here to explore courses.

Diploma

Acquire in-depth knowledge and advanced skills to work in technical or management settings. A TAFE diploma could provide a pathway to university (depending on the course). Click here to explore courses.
