Julie Burch, our volunteer Chaplain, is a wonderful gift to SWTAFE from the wider community, and she is here to support our students across all of our campuses. She is located in South West Central and works closely with our Wellbeing and Support Services teams.
Alongside our teachers and the Learning Support Unit, Julie enjoys assisting students, particularly as they work through their assessments and make decisions about future study or careers. She mentors a range of students, including participants of the English as an Additional Language (EAL) classes. So, if you have stresses outside of your study, including family issues, mental health challenges, long-term illness, or you’re just struggling with overwhelming commitments, Julie is someone you can talk to in confidence.
Recently, when asked to describe her role, Julie suggested that she is a listening, caring friend. Please feel free to reach out.
